About The Position

The Indirect Sourcing Category Leader is responsible for maintaining an adequate quantity of essential materials or services required for the business to operate. This role involves managing stock inventories, creating detailed requirements specifications, tendering with potential suppliers, evaluating bids, and negotiating prices. The position focuses on managing specific Indirect Categories such as utilities, couriers, equipment, services, software, and hardware, and involves developing and implementing category strategies in collaboration with Business Partners. Key responsibilities include vendor negotiations, performance management, contract development, and conducting end-to-end RFP/RFQ processes with market analysis. The role also requires negotiating contract terms related to data security and performance metrics to drive value.

Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external customers including suppliers.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills with a heavy focus on details.
• Demonstrated successful leadership through influence.
• Skilled at negotiating out of/through end of term contracts.
• 5-10 years of related job experience.

• Sourcing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Managing specific Indirect Categories, including but not limited to utilities, couriers, equipment, services, software and hardware.
• Developing and implementing category strategies collaborating with Business Partners.
• Vendor negotiations, Vendor performance, Vendor management and contract development.
• Creating a collaborative environment for the selection of key vendors for assigned categories.
• Conducting RFP/RFQs and managing the process from beginning to end.
• Providing market analysis.
• Negotiating contract terms regarding data security and performance metrics to drive value to Veritiv.
