This role involves assisting in the strategic sourcing and management of indirect spend categories such as office supplies, uniforms, and travel to optimize cost and service. The specialist will serve as a point of contact for indirect goods/service providers and internal customers, ensuring appropriate levels of management engagement and approval. Key responsibilities include developing Requests for Proposal, purchase contracts, and professional services agreements, as well as creating and maintaining indirect purchasing policies, procedures, and process controls. The role also requires gathering market intelligence, tracking industry trends, executing Environmental, Social, and Governance initiatives, and building beneficial relationships with internal customers and suppliers. Additionally, the specialist will develop and execute cost reduction strategies and lead facilities management projects. The job duties include overseeing category administration, deploying supplier performance initiatives, investigating and executing cost reduction strategies, creating and maintaining productive relationships between suppliers and internal customers, leading contract development, facilitating payments, acting as Office Coordinator for Applied’s Corporate Headquarters, vetting vendors, conducting purchase negotiations, and developing and managing an annual budget.
