About The Position

The Indirect Funding Specialist supports the indirect lending channel by verifying loan stipulations, ensuring approval conditions are met, and performing quality control reviews of documentation and system data. This role works closely with vendors, members, and dealerships to facilitate funding and strengthen partner relationships. The Indirect Funding Specialist contributes to post-closing reviews, management of open stipulations, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards while supporting Austin Telco’s mission and values of Respect, Empathy, Service, Integrity, and Cooperation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in indirect lending, dealer relationship management, or loan funding.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for consumer loan documentation, including power of attorney review for collateralized loans, as well as understanding of lending compliance regulations and loan funding procedures.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and potential fraud concerns within loan documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with CUDL and Open Lending origination systems.
  • Demonstrated professional, personable, and friendly communication style with a focus on member and dealer service.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a highly ethical manner.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good credit standing (verified prior to interview)
  • Successful background check and drug screening upon offer

  • Experience working within loan documentation and core processing systems preferred.
  • Previous credit union experience or relevant financial institution experience
  • Symitar experience
  • Experience with FSBA, InterACT, or ATLAS core processing systems
  • Established dealer relationships
  • ACH and general ledger reconciliation experience

Responsibilities

  • Work with dealer partners and vendors to facilitate loan closings for multiple indirect lending products
  • Review loan documentation to ensure all documents are completed accurately and meet regulatory requirements
  • Perform quality control reviews of loan documentation and verify required disclosures have been executed
  • Review daily funding reports and corresponding loan documents housed within the document imaging system of the third-party indirect vendor for accuracy and completeness
  • Audit retail installment sales contracts for correct loan approval amounts, interest rates, and loan terms to ensure compliance with approved loan terms and conditions
  • Responsible for daily post-closing quality assurance reviews of funded loans within the core system
  • Conduct income verification
  • Identify red flags in loan documentation to identify and resolve potential fraud concerns
  • Process indirect loan adjustments including chargebacks, rate buy downs, and short funds
  • Responsible for unwinding loans funded in error and processing problem resolution requests
  • Act as a primary contact for dealerships regarding loan processing, funding, and problem resolution matters
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with dealer partners, third-party vendors, and potential members
  • Assist departments and dealerships with resolving Electronic Funds Transfer discrepancies related to dealer loan funding
  • Responsible for creating new accounts and dealer records within the core system for new dealers added by the third-party indirect vendor
  • Provide professional, personable, and service-focused support to dealers and members
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal lending regulations including Patriot Act, Truth in Lending, Reg B, Reg Z, Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering laws
  • Ensure indirect lending general ledgers are balanced and reconciled monthly
  • Review titling documentation to ensure collateral does not have branded or salvaged titles
  • Verify personal identification to protect member and credit union information and prevent fraudulent activity
  • Provide regulatory disclosure information for new and specialized account types
  • Support operational efficiency through accurate documentation review and system maintenance
  • Other duties may be assigned.
