About The Position

The Indirect Dealer Representative (IDR) is responsible for developing, managing, and strengthening relationships with Mazuma’s network of automotive and recreational vehicle dealerships to drive quality loan production and portfolio performance. This role serves as the primary relationship manager and business development contact for dealer partners. The IDR provides consultative support, performance feedback, operational training, and program guidance while serving as the liaison between dealerships and Mazuma’s Indirect Lending Team. The IDR focuses on loan volume, quality, dealer engagement, growth strategy, and issue resolution to support the overall success of the Indirect Lending program.

Requirements

  • Two or more years in indirect lending, dealership finance, consumer lending, sales or related field.
  • Strong understanding of credit reports, loan structures, and underwriting principles
  • Knowledge of local auto market trends and dealership operations
  • Understanding of Missouri and Kansas titling requirements
  • Understanding of ancillary products and compliance (GAP, warranty etc.)
  • Ability to establish trust and credibility with dealership staff at all levels
  • Maintains a confident, professional presence during onsite visits and meetings
  • Ability to maintain long-term partnerships while upholding Credit Union standards
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.

  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled office environment with minimal noise.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a credit union environment
  • Experience with Dealertrack, RouteOne, CUDL, LOS systems, Symitar, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with dealer performance metrics, such as approval rates, loan quality, funding timelines, and delinquency trends, with experience communicating results and improvement expectations to dealers.

Responsibilities

  • Dealer Relationship Management & Business Development: Conduct regularly scheduled onsite dealer visits to dealer partners to strengthen relationships, review performance metrics, and reinforce lending expectations as established by Consumer Lending Leader. Build and maintain strong working relationships with dealer principals, finance managers, and sales leadership through consultative engagement and ongoing business communication. Identify growth opportunities within assigned dealerships and collaborate with Leadership to expand loan volume while maintaining portfolio quality. Serve as the primary point of contact for dealer relationship management to allow underwriters focus on credit decisions rather than ongoing dealer development.
  • Performance Monitoring & Portfolio Quality: Review and communicate dealer performance metrics, including approval ratios, submission quality, documentation deficiencies, delinquency trends, and charge-off performance. Provide constructive feedback to dealership management regarding portfolio trends and recommend corrective actions to improve loan quality, loan volume, and compliance. Escalate recurring performance concerns to Consumer Lending Leader and recommend action plans when necessary.
  • Training & Program Education: Explains lending guidelines and dealer metrics to dealer teams in a constructive manner, including quality, approval rates, and delinquencies. Recommends corrective actions as directed. Provide ongoing training to dealer finance staff on: Mazuma lending programs and promotional offerings, Application submission requirements, Documentation standard, Compliance expectations, Common approval or stipulation issues. Reinforce changes to underwriting guidelines, documentation requirements, or regulatory updates.
  • Operational Liaison & Issue Resolution: Serve as liaison between dealers, Underwriting, and Funding to ensure smooth loan processing and communication. Troubleshoot issues including: Incomplete or inaccurate applications, Repeated documentation deficiencies, Funding delays, Misinterpretation of stipulations, Escalated service concerns. Facilitate resolution of disputes while maintaining positive dealer relationships and protecting Mazuma’s risk standards.
  • Application Quality Oversight: Conduct periodic audits of dealer-submitted applications to identify trends in quality, accuracy, and compliance. Provide feedback and coaching to reduce exception frequency and documentation errors. Ensure adherence to Mazuma policies and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting & Communication: Maintain detailed records of dealer visits, performance discussions, and action plans. Provide regular reporting to Indirect Lending Leadership regarding dealer engagement activity, growth opportunities, and risk concerns.
