About The Position

This position is for an Indigenous Academic Tutor for the CUPE - Academic Year 2026-2027, specifically for the Fall 2026 semester within the Common Law Indigenous Program at the University of Ottawa's Common Law Section. The role involves providing academic support to students, with a focus on understanding and addressing the barriers faced by Indigenous learners. Requirements

• Currently enrolled in the JD program or have recently completed the JD program.
• GPA of 6.5 or higher.
• Completed Constitutional Law II.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated skill in legal writing.
• Prior tutoring experience.
• Aptitude using technology for teaching purposes.
• Ability to take initiative, and to work independently and creatively.
• Flexibility and adaptability around new teaching/learning conditions.
• A demonstrated understanding with respect to the barriers faced by Indigenous learners and communities.
• Must submit a cover letter, résumé, unofficial transcript, and contact information for two references in one PDF document.
