About The Position

We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic Indian (Ethnic) Cuisine Cook to join our growing New York Team! About DO & CO We have a passion for hospitality culinary delights on every banquet floor and in the sky. With the three business segments of Airline Catering, International Event Catering, and Restaurants, Lounges & Hotels, we offer gourmet entertainment all over the world. We operate in 33 locations, 12 countries and 3 Continents, maintaining the highest standard of quality in both our products and services. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a cook specializing in Indian and Ethnic cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine ingredients, cooking methods, and flavor profiles.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary certification or relevant training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, tandoori items, and appetizers, following traditional recipes.
  • Utilize Indian cooking techniques such as roasting, braising, and simmering to enhance flavors and authenticity.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and portion control guidelines.
  • Monitor ingredient usage, minimize waste, and maintain consistent food quality.
  • Work efficiently across multiple stations in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations as outlined in the Food Safety Management System.
  • Report any food safety concerns or operational issues to management.
  • Support kitchen operations by assisting with inventory, prep work, and other duties as assigned.
