About The Position

Jostens is seeking entrepreneurial, self-starting individuals to build their own business as an Independent Sales Representative (1099) in the Louisville, KY territory. This role offers the freedom to run your business your way, backed by the Jostens brand. You will grow your territory by signing new business, developing prospects, and leading relationships with schools, while representing the Jostens brand with integrity. This is a field-based position requiring travel up to 70% and the candidate must reside within the assigned territory. The role involves operating an independent office, managing business expenses, and potentially hiring and leading support staff.

Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial self-starter ready to build their own business.
  • Proven experience in consultative, educational, or B2C sales and/or sales management.
  • Self-motivated, accountable, and takes ownership of success.
  • Track record of developing new business and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Strong financial and operational understanding to run a business effectively.
  • Confident partnering with diverse stakeholders, from administrators to students.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and nationally (amount varies by territory).
  • 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through prospecting and expanding market share.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with school administrators, advisors, teachers, and students.
  • Guide school leadership on Jostens products and services to support their goals.
  • Maintain your own independent office and manage all business expenses, including travel.
  • Recruit, train, and compensate office and sales support as needed.
  • Follow all laws applicable to your independent business.
