Independent Residential Vacancy Observer
About The Position
FAR Inspections is seeking a reliable independent contractor to perform residential mortgage inspections in Norfolk County, Massachusetts and surrounding communities. This role involves performing brief, exterior visits to confirm property status and report on general conditions. The position offers autonomy in managing your own routing, schedule, and territory, with standard inspections typically requiring only 5-6 minutes on-site. Contractors will determine property occupancy status based on industry-standard indicators, capture photos, and submit brief reports using mobile applications, while maintaining reliability regarding territory coverage and deadlines. This role requires significant driving and making numerous stops throughout the day in a dense metro area, where familiarity with city driving, parking, and navigating multi-unit properties is helpful.
Requirements
- Reliable, fuel-efficient vehicle.
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone) capable of running mobile reporting apps.
- Computer with an internet connection and a printer.
- Strong time-management skills to meet deadlines without direct supervision.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
