About The Position
Backyard Discovery is seeking independent installation contractors in Illinois to assemble and install residential outdoor play equipment. This opportunity is ideal for experienced installers, carpenters, or small construction businesses looking for project-based work with flexible scheduling. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for providing professional assembly and installation services for Backyard Discovery outdoor products, including wooden playsets and swing sets, at residential locations. You will need to follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines, communicate professionally with customers, and maintain a clean and safe work area. This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not employment, and contractors are responsible for all taxes, insurance, and business expenses.
Requirements
- Established independent contractor (sole proprietor, LLC, or other business entity)
- Owns required tools and equipment
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical, outdoor work
- General liability insurance meeting minimum coverage requirements
- Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and licensing requirements

- Experience with carpentry, construction, or equipment assembly preferred
Responsibilities
- Assemble and install Backyard Discovery outdoor playsets and related products at residential locations
- Follow manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding scheduling and site readiness
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Document completed installations as required
- Provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the services (unless otherwise specified)
- Complete installations in a timely and workmanlike manner
