About The Position

The F/ACT Independent Living Specialists work with SMI clients in their homes or in the field to develop independent living skills. Independent living skills include, but are not limited to, food shopping, learning bus routes, cleaning home, proper hygiene, maintaining relationships with supportive family and developing community-based supports. This position is expected to be in the field at least 80% of the time working with clients assisting them develop skills that will assist in sustaining ongoing recovery. This position will also provide after hour, and on-call supports. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current AZ Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Clear 39-month Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  • Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) in accordance with A.A.C. R9-10-101.33 and CBI Clinical Policies and Procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • 1-year experience working with the SMI population with additional experience in multiple settings and levels of care, including both mental health and substance abuse preferred.
  • 1-year experience in a behavioral health position providing outreach and engagement activities preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
  • Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) within 12-months of employment.
  • Peer Certification (if applicable).
