Designed like a quaint town square with paved brick streets and a welcoming gazebo, Freedom Square retirement community offers a wide variety of elegantly appointed residential options, exceptional services and amenities, and a full calendar of fun, engaging activities. Situated on 15 acres with two ponds, it provides a beautiful garden-like setting for retirement living. As a life care community, Freedom Square supports aging in place, allowing residents to seamlessly transition from independent living to assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care as their healthcare needs change. The expert culinary team is seeking energetic, detail-oriented, and customer service-focused individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have a desire to serve others. As a line cook, the role involves full-scope, hands-on production cooking within the Community Culinary Services Department, offering an opportunity to learn from world-class chefs, jump-start a career, and gain lifelong skills and experience.

Requirements

Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
Ability to perform simple arithmetic
Ability to understand measurements and conversions
Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
Assist with serving of meals and ware washing as necessary.
Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required criteria, as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per policy and procedure.
Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
