About The Position

Graceland Portable Buildings is seeking an Independent Contractor Driver to transport and set portable buildings. This is a contract (1099) role where you provide your own truck/equipment and insurance and are not a Graceland employee, but a partner. The role involves transporting, delivering, setting up, and anchoring portable buildings at customer sites safely and on schedule. You will also be responsible for leveling and positioning buildings on-site with care and accuracy, communicating with dispatch and customers regarding ETAs and delivery status, using a smartphone/tablet for dispatch details and paperwork, maintaining your contractor-owned truck/trailer/equipment, and adhering to all applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements and safe work practices. Providing professional and courteous service is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL and acceptable driving record.
• Own truck/trailer/equipment suitable for transporting and setting portable buildings.
• Maintain required commercial auto liability insurance (and any other coverage required by contract) and provide proof upon request.
• Ability to meet Graceland safety requirements (may include background screening/drug testing as permitted by law).
• Ability to work regionally/out of town as needed.
• Strong safety mindset and dependable work habits.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to solve problems on-site and adapt to changing conditions.
• Comfort using a smartphone/tablet for dispatch and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver, set up, and anchor portable buildings at customer sites safely and on the scheduled delivery date.
• Level and position buildings on-site with care and accuracy in a timely manner.
• Communicate with dispatch/customers on ETAs, site access, and delivery status.
• Use phone/tablet to receive dispatch details and submit required paperwork/photos.
• Maintain contractor-owned truck/trailer/equipment in safe working condition.
• Follow all applicable DOT/FMCSA requirements and safe work practices.
• Provide professional, courteous service that reflects well on Graceland.
