Facilitates the education of students with multiple needs by the development, implementation, and evaluation of special education Individual Education Plans. This role involves ensuring the safety of students, planning and implementing daily learning activities based on student Individual Education Plans, and following the scope and sequence of the instructional program. The teacher is responsible for developing behavior management plans, participating in team approaches for IEPs and behavior management, and developing plans for functional community training. Additionally, the role includes providing physical care, maintaining a safe classroom environment, communicating with parents and support agencies, producing necessary documentation, and providing direction to teaching assistants. The position requires positive interaction with staff, students, and parents, maintaining confidentiality, promoting good public relations, attending work regularly, and demonstrating a positive work ethic and cooperative attitude. Adherence to the ethics of the teaching profession, professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment are also essential.
