About The Position

Inclusion Specialist – Wayzata Community Education Do you have a passion for creating inclusive environments where every child can thrive? Come join Wayzata Community Education as an Inclusion Specialist supporting our before and after school and full-day preschool programs. We are looking for a confident, experienced professional who believes deeply that all staff and all students deserve to be included — and who has the skills and drive to make that a reality. A successful candidate will be a decisive, relationship-driven leader who can work across multiple sites, coach staff, and build systems that support an inclusive environment for all.

Requirements

  • BA Degree required
  • Experience working in an inclusion role with school-age children (ages 4–11) strongly preferred.
  • Background in coaching or mentoring staff and working across multiple sites.
  • Strong understanding of DEI principles and a personal philosophy aligned with the belief that all students and staff deserve to be included.
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification required
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) preferred.
  • CPI training provided upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students and staff across before and after school and full-day preschool programs to ensure a consistent, safe, and inclusive environment.
  • Visiting sites to observe students with inclusion needs or behavioral concerns and consulting with Site Managers on accommodations and behavior management.
  • Creating and updating individual accommodation plans using data gathered from parents, teachers, IEPs, 504 plans, and outside providers.
  • Developing and implementing positive behavior intervention and support strategies, reinforcing positive behaviors and calmly redirecting when needed.
  • Training, mentoring, and coaching program staff on behavioral recommendations and inclusive practices.
  • Collaborating with district personnel, families, and outside resources to ensure appropriate programming for all students.
  • Communicating regularly with parents and staff through both written and verbal means.
