About The Position

Maximus provides cyber defense and incident response capabilities in support of Department of War (DoW) mission assurance objectives. The Incident Responder focuses on rapid detection, education, forensic analysis, response, containment, and recovery from cyber incidents affecting defense systems in classified environments. The role is onsite five days a week and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position is contingent upon award.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret / SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of incident response analysis experience.
• Required DoD 8140 certifications for DCWF 531: CCNA, CySA+, CFR, GCFA, GCIA, and GICSP.
• Experience using EnCase, FTK, and Volatility, and knowledge of NIST SP 800-61 incident response lifecycle.

Nice To Haves

• Malware analysis or reverse engineering experience.
• Experience supporting DoW cyber operations centers.
• GREM certification.
• Experience supporting DoD or USAF cyber operations.
• Proven ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in large-scale environments.
• Familiarity with threat emulation and collaboration with red/blue teams.
• Experience integrating incident response into broader cybersecurity operations and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Ability to advise leadership on strategic incident response readiness and posture.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate cybersecurity incidents.
• Conduct incident response and evidence collection.
• Contain, eradicate, and recover from cyber events.
• Develop and maintain incident response procedures and playbooks.
