About The Position

The Inbound Hazmat Lead is responsible for overseeing the safe and compliant handling of hazardous materials received into the facility. This role ensures all hazardous products are processed according to company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards while coordinating workflow, supporting associates, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics experience required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or team lead experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations preferred.
  • Forklift or powered industrial equipment experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily inbound hazardous materials operations and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Verify hazardous materials are received, identified, labeled, and stored in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct routine inspections of hazardous material storage areas for proper segregation, labeling, and housekeeping.
  • Train and coach associates on hazardous material handling procedures, emergency response protocols, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor inbound workflow to ensure timely processing while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Investigate and report hazardous material incidents, spills, leaks, or damaged products.
  • Coordinate with Safety, Operations, Problem Solve, Inventory Control, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams to resolve hazmat-related issues.
  • Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available and accessible for all applicable materials.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and proper documentation for hazardous materials.
  • Assist with regulatory audits and internal safety inspections.
  • Escalate compliance concerns, damaged shipments, or safety risks to leadership immediately.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, compliance, and operational performance.
