As a Part-Time Inbound Freight Handler, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight from equipment and assisting with damaged freight recouping. This includes preparing, sweeping, inspecting, and cleaning trailers before loading, using safe lifting techniques, and operating various freight handling equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers. You will also weigh and dimension shipments for proper classification and handling, plan cube utilization and weight distribution, and inspect freight for shortages or damage. Additional duties involve reviewing freight bills and manifests for special instructions and exceptions, verifying hazardous material descriptions and placarding, and properly blocking and bracing freight to prevent shifting during transport.
