About The Position

The Inbound Expert supports Target’s General Merchandise operations by sorting inbound freight and ensuring products are stocked, organized, accurately presented, and available on the sales floor. The role helps deliver an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience while supporting store business priorities and sales goals. The starting hourly rate is $16.75 USD. The position involves active, physically demanding work in a fast-moving environment. Team members may also support guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up. Work schedules may vary and can include nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping periods.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have a welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
Ability to communicate using multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to resolve guest questions quickly.
Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
Ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to climb up and down ladders.
Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 44 pounds throughout a shift without additional assistance.
Ability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, reaching, and rotating motions.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; report for scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain duties, including Drive Up and carryout.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift; shift length may vary.

Responsibilities

Create a friendly, helpful guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find products or resolve issues, and thanking them at the end of transactions.
Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
Execute detailed, accurate, and efficient sorting operations.
Stock, organize, and store reserve product, and straighten merchandise on the sales floor.
Maintain product availability on the sales floor for General Merchandise categories.
Operate powered equipment when certified and as necessary while unloading freight or moving merchandise.
Process defective merchandise and handle environmentally sensitive (ESIM) items in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and training, and report or correct hazards where possible.
Support guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up, including complying with adult beverage laws when applicable.
Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
Perform other duties based on business needs.
