About The Position
The successful candidate will be accountable for efficient and accurate processing of vendor shipments delivered to the Carp Road distribution center. Processing includes unloading, system receiving, and put away. The job is not complete until the order is put away.
Requirements
- Personal qualities: organized, strong attendance, effective communication skills, strong work ethic, problem solver
- Ability to read and understand documentation e.g. Purchase Orders, Way Bills, Bill of Lading, Packing Slips
- General knowledge of Lee Valley products
- Positive attitude
- Ability to lift 40 lb
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMi)
- Ability to obtain a license to operate all Lee Valley lift trucks
- Correspond with other departments to resolve issues
Responsibilities
- Ensuring safety and operating procedures are known, understood and followed
- Unloading of delivery vehicles, and confirming, signing and logging waybills
- Examining shipments for damage, and process discrepancies
- Receive and label cases with LPN’s
- Updating product dimensions, weights and sku barcodes
- Verifying box counts, sorting and delivering receipts to correct drop locations
- Using all required machinery to put away cases and pallets from the drop locations
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of their work area and support surrounding areas which include sweeping, emptying garbage, recycling cardboard, removing debris and restocking supplies
- Following policies and operating procedures and training others as required.
