About The Position

University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is searching for an experienced Emergency Medicine physician leader to serve as the inaugural Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at its growing academic institution in Tyler, TX. This is an opportunity to spearhead the development, approval, and implementation of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program. The incoming Program Director will be integral to assisting the UT Tyler School of Medicine including the region's only Level I Trauma Center, in its mission of cultivating a new generation of physicians prepared to improve healthcare outcomes and enhance the quality of life in East Texas. Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT Health East Texas facilities.

Requirements

  • MD or DO, with board certification by ABEM or AOBEM
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as PD, APD, or core faculty

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Direct the Emergency Medicine Accreditation process
  • Program Administration
  • Resident Recruitment/Selection
  • Resident and Faculty Supervision
  • Fostering a scholarly and collegial learning environment
  • Educational Oversight to ensure curriculum compliance meets accreditation standards
  • Compliance and Reporting: to ensure ACGME and other governing bodies' requirements are met
  • Collaboration with other departmental and physician leaders
