About The Position

The candidate will be responsible for designing routine in vivo testing in the fields of infectious diseases and vaccines. The role will involve small animal handling work including: Following GMP SOP procedures to prepare and execute small animal immunogenicity studies in various animal species. Hands-on execution of in vivo studies involving infection, monitoring viremia, monitoring immune response and necropsy. Proficiency in preparation and dosing of agents via multiple routes of administration (including IM, PO, IP, SC, IN, and IV). Evaluation and implementation of in vivo techniques and technologies. Detailed record keeping of all experimental information in electronic lab notebooks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with biological sciences, toxicology, or a related field with at least 1 year of small animal handling experience.
  • Experience with rodent handling and injections via the intraperitoneal (IP) and intracranial (IC) routes, intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV), and subcutaneous (SQ) routes of administration, observations.
  • Experience with rodent observations of physical signs, differentiating and understanding normal rodent behavior and behavior induced due to compound effects.
  • Experience with gross examinations and necropsy.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and experience working in a GMP environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
