About The Position

Excellent employment opportunity for a Scientist II in vivo Scientist in Chronic Kidney Disease research in the Ridgefield, CT area. This role involves initiating and completing routine in vivo studies, principally in the field of chronic kidney disease (CKD), independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. The position requires the ability to interpret experimental outcomes, propose follow-up actions, and troubleshoot effectively. The scientist will also assist in the design and execution of non-routine experiments in CKD and cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) in vivo models, conducting exploratory experiments with minimal supervision. Compliance with applicable regulations, including IACUC governance, and maintaining proper records are essential. The role involves applying scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation, as well as performing literature searches. Independent operation and troubleshooting of lab equipment are expected. Effective oral and written communication, contribution to protocols and procedures, and input for scientific reports are key. Data integrity and ethics are paramount. The role includes integration into a weekend/holiday rotation, with flexible scheduling that does not require every weekend.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years experience in related scientific discipline.
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology or CRO experience is highly desirable.
  • Non-PhD applicant required.
  • Apply knowledge of basic theory and scientific principles to conduct hands-on in vivo research.
  • Direct experience in rodent models of CKD is desirable.
  • Experience in routine routes of rodent dosing (i.v., i.p., p.o., s.c., and i.m.), health monitoring, and sample collection is required.
  • Compliance and communication experience with IACUC governance.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with aptitude for agile learning style.
  • Assist in the incorporation of new technologies to enhance cardio-renal-metabolic research.
  • Proficiency with data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel and GraphPad Prism.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Independently operates and is responsible for lab equipment; troubleshoots effectively.
  • Communicates own work effectively orally and in writing; contributes to writing protocols and procedures; provide input for scientific reports.
  • Reports and treats data with a high level of integrity and ethics.
  • Integration into weekend/holiday rotation at cadence consistent with rest of the team.
  • Support business operations with recurring weekend work, with flexible scheduling that would not be every weekend.
