In this role, you will be responsible for the structural aspects of complex highway bridge engineering projects, along with assessment and evaluation of existing structures, and offering innovative solutions to extend bridge service life. You will be focused on developing organizational skills for more complex assignments, and coordinate with all Bridge Service Groups to provide opportunities to participate on complex projects and enable RS&H bridge organization growth strategies. You will be responsible for mentoring the team in bridge inspection best practices and career development. This position will also be responsible for leading technical pursuits, proposal writing, and participation in Go/No-Go decisions relative to project pursuits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree minimum
  • Must have a professional engineering (PE) registration with the ability to obtain comity in other jurisdictions as required.
  • Experience inspecting transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, complex structures, and construction engineering.
  • NHI Bridge Safety Inspection Training
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive structural inspection experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, AASHTO BrM, Bentley Assetwise, and other proprietary DOT asset management software.
  • Experience in evaluating existing bridge structures for life cycle maintenance/rehabilitation options to extend service life.
  • Must have the ability to effectively engage and empower teams, and interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Possesses a professional demeanor and adheres to ethical standards.
  • Leads by example and provides clear guidance and expectations for team

Responsibilities

  • Lead a two-person inspection team in the inspection and documentation of field conditions of in-service bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures.
  • Develop field inspection plan, prepare existing reports, coordinate traffic control, verify safety protocols are in place, and plan travel.
  • Prepare bridge inspection reports and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and track east coast opportunities for NBIS, NTIS, Bridge Preservation, NDE, and QC/QA.
  • Manage internal and external relationships
  • Establish marketing connections with new geographic clients
  • Participating in go no-go decisions on critical projects
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure Business Unit with bridge Infra pursuits, and development of Preservation group/strategy.
  • Coordinate with Strategy Group on identification of new bridge markets and
  • Participate in Presentations, Interviews, and Proposals.
  • Increase BD role and Marketing tasks.
  • Participate in major organizational pursuits.
  • Participate in obtaining bridge inspection quals in key Region Markets.
