About The Position

Literacy Mid-South (LMS) has been dedicated to improving literacy for over 50 years, serving learners of all ages across the Mid-South. Our mission is to provide individuals and families with the necessary literacy skills to succeed academically, economically, and personally. We aim to break cycles of limited literacy and create opportunities for future generations through direct programming and regional collaboration. At LMS, literacy is viewed as a tool for empowerment, equity, and community transformation. The Tutor901: Reading Substitute Tutor (In-School) role focuses on delivering high-impact, research-aligned literacy instruction to elementary students during the school day. Under the guidance of the Tutor901 Program Manager, tutors will conduct structured, small-group reading interventions designed to complement classroom learning and build students' confidence and enthusiasm for reading. The Tutor901 program utilizes evidence-based practices from the Annenberg Institute at Brown University, emphasizing consistent tutoring groups, frequent in-person sessions, and continuous coaching and support.
