About The Position

Girls Inc. of Memphis is seeking passionate and committed professionals to inspire girls ages 5-18 to be strong, smart, and bold. The In-School Facilitator is responsible for preparing and implementing hands-on, minds-on programming and activities, including facilitating sessions during the school day and after school at one or more schools. This role serves as the liaison between Girls Inc. and the schools, becoming part of the school's culture. Facilitators work collaboratively with a team to deliver engaging programs that equip girls to find their voice and experience their power, fulfilling the organization's mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, sociology, or a related field, or relevant field experience.
  • Knowledge of and interest in youth development, gender equity, social justice, cultural issues, and community engagement.
  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Ability to diffuse and manage volatile situations.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Ability to bend, lift, and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid TN driver's license.
  • Available M-F: 8 am- 6 pm, weekends (9am-3pm) based on the programming calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement hands-on, minds-on programming and activities.
  • Facilitate sessions during the school day and after school.
  • Serve as the school's liaison for Girls Inc. of Memphis.
  • Model the Girls Inc. mission as a strong, smart, and bold individual.
  • Advocate in the community on behalf of Girls Inc., women, and girls.
  • Ensure facilitated curricula provide the Girls Inc. Experience and meet agency standards.
  • Develop and implement quality year-round program/curriculum aligned with Strong, Smart, and Bold outcomes.
  • Provide appropriate supervision for participants, maintaining high-quality and safety standards.
  • Retain participants by providing engaging and quality programming.
  • Work collaboratively with agency program staff to ensure continuity of program delivery.
  • Confer regularly with supervisors and keep them informed of issues.
  • Distribute, collect, and submit program session paperwork and evaluations.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and chaperoning special events, enrichment trips, and guest speakers.
  • Assist with providing an effective and efficient program delivery model, including registration, outcomes evaluation, and attendance tracking.
  • Provide written evaluations of programming based on data.
  • Follow all agency policies and procedures.
  • Participate in periodic self-assessment and develop personal goals.
  • Actively seek personal and professional growth opportunities for self and team.
  • Represent Girls Inc. professionally and respectfully.
  • Counsel girls individually or collectively and make referrals as needed.
  • Assist with capturing photos and quotes for communications and fundraising.
  • Assist with facilities and shared space janitorial needs, maintenance, and equipment inventory.
  • Assist with attendance collection, accuracy checks, and database entry.
  • Act as an immediate supervisor in the absence of the Coordinator.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned cheerfully.
