About The Position

Create memorable guest experiences through exceptional in-room dining service in one of the city’s premier hotel environments. This role is responsible for delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms with professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail while supporting the overall success of the Room Service operation. The ideal candidate is hospitality-driven, organized, and energized by providing personalized service. In addition to serving guests, this position helps lead daily room service operations, supports team training and scheduling, and ensures the highest standards of quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent walking throughout guest floors, kitchens, hallways, and service areas.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable handling food, beverages, trays, and service equipment.
  • Basic math and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Food handler certification and/or alcohol awareness certification as required by local or state regulations.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business demands require.

  • Previous restaurant, hotel, in-room dining, or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Set up and present orders in guest rooms according to established hotel standards and guest preferences.
  • Provide personalized service by anticipating guest needs and creating a welcoming, elevated dining experience.
  • Describe menu offerings, preparation methods, ingredients, and pricing knowledgeably and enthusiastically.
  • Accommodate guest dietary restrictions and special requests whenever possible.
  • Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
  • Assist in leading daily room service operations to ensure smooth service flow and proper staffing coverage.
  • Support the scheduling, onboarding, and training of room service team members.
  • Coordinate VIP amenities and special deliveries with Culinary, Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments.
  • Promote teamwork and positive communication across all hotel departments.
  • Assist with room service phone operations, accurately recording orders and utilizing suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and increase revenue.
  • Retrieve trays and service items from guest rooms and hallways within established service standards.
  • Complete opening and closing side work including stocking service stations, brewing coffee, polishing equipment, and preparing trays and flatware.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of room service areas, equipment, and service stations.
  • Process guest payments accurately following all cash handling and charge procedures.
  • Ensure all guest checks and order documentation are completed accurately and legibly.
  • Report service, maintenance, or safety concerns to management promptly.
  • Assist with additional operational responsibilities and hotel support functions as needed.
