The In-Process Inspector performs visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection functions in manufacturing areas under direct supervision. This role is dedicated to the quality function and is responsible for executing inspection tasks accurately, following established procedures, and progressing through structured training to achieve independent inspection capability. The role involves performing repetitive dimensional and electrical inspections using basic inspection equipment and established procedures with minimal supervision. It requires strong mechanical aptitude and accurate record-keeping practices. The inspector will actively engage in structured training programs, apply learned inspection techniques, and follow written work instructions, inspection manuals, and documented procedures precisely. The individual will progress from supervised training to independent inspection work within an expected training period, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Flexibility to work with various individuals and in different manufacturing areas based on business needs is essential. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and written instructions, and using a variety of precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and electrical test equipment. Efficient scheduling, planning, and execution of assigned tasks are necessary to support production flow and minimize delays. The inspector will interface directly with customer representatives as required, demonstrate basic mathematical skills and computer literacy, and use multiple software applications. Attendance at offsite training classes is required to maintain inspection and certification standards (e.g., IPC, J-STD). The role may involve performing or reviewing First Article Inspection Reports, supporting overtime, performing In-Process Surveillance Audits, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word), Agile, and Visual systems. Training in weld inspection, solder inspection, leak testing, and powder bed inspection is also part of the role, along with performing other related duties as assigned.
