Tutors will work approximately 20 hours per week, providing individualized and small-group instruction focused on ELA, Reading, Writing, Phonics, and literacy intervention. Tutors may also assist students with homework and assignment completion to reinforce classroom learning and help students strengthen their overall academic skills. This is an especially valuable opportunity for aspiring educators and individuals interested in pursuing a career in teaching. Tutors selected for the program will receive Orton-Gillingham training provided by the District, allowing them to gain hands-on experience with a structured, evidence-based approach to literacy instruction. Because consistency is critical to student progress, we are specifically looking for tutors who can commit to the entire duration of the program. Students will build relationships with their tutors and rely on consistent instructional support throughout the program, making reliability and long-term commitment essential for this role.
