The In-House Tailor is responsible for performing and completing alterations according to Indochino’s guidelines and service standards. This role requires a strong knowledge of garment fitting, fabrics, styling, manufacturing techniques, garment construction, and men’s suiting. The tailor will provide sound advice on the product, calculate lead times, and manage customer expectations. They will also be responsible for pressing, steaming, and spot cleaning garments, following quality control guidelines, and meeting productivity levels. Additionally, the tailor will handle rush orders, special requests, and escalated situations, maintain accurate records of alterations, and coordinate with external alteration vendors. Cultivating customer relationships, identifying quality discrepancies, assisting with customer fittings, educating customers and staff on fitting techniques, and resolving customer service issues are also key aspects of this role. The tailor must ensure preventative maintenance of equipment and communicate supply needs.
