The In-House Service Technician is responsible for refurbishment including assembly and/or disassembly of dispensing equipment using Bill of Materials, parts assembly requirement list, as well as written and verbal instruction. Must be a team player, yet be able to work without close supervision on project related-tasks. Requires ability to manage inventory levels for related projects and communicate well both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. In addition, they will also be responsible for assisting the Field Service Operations by supporting equipment and parts availability and supply. They will also be responsible for shipping, receiving and inventory management at the site. Shop Technician will also assist with making field calls to support Field Service Technician with installations, removals or parts delivery/pick-up or to provide service support.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Familiarity with shipping, warehouse practices and handling methods preferred
  • Prior assembly, plumbing, refrigeration, and/or electrical experience preferred
  • Experience with Bill of Materials documents preferred
  • Able to pass forklift certification process (both written and driving tests)
  • Have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle occasionally
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to communicate via email
  • Frequently required to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work successfully with a team
  • Self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Read and understand standard and metric measurement systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business priorities
  • Flexibility to work overtime and occasionally be on-call during weekends

Responsibilities

  • Refurbishment including assembly and/or disassembly of dispensing equipment
  • Wash parts and equipment to prepare for refurbishment
  • Test dispensing equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Read and interpret drawings and Bill of Materials documents
  • Use common hand tools, as well as some specialized electro-mechanical tools
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
  • Work as part of a team and be able to work without close supervision
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Build and process sub-assembly shop orders
  • Complete service ticket documentation (changed from paperwork) accurately and on time
  • Responsible for inventory management for site
  • Provide technical support on dispensing equipment for Field Technicians
  • Other duties as assigned
