About The Position

Ballston Spa National Bank (BSNB) is seeking an In-House Mortgage Loan Originator to join its Retail Lending Team. This role involves providing outstanding customer service to BSNB's customers during significant purchases like homes. The originator will work closely with the Retail Branch and colleagues to follow up on customer referrals for home purchase or home equity loans. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, taking loan applications, recommending appropriate lending products, and ensuring accurate and complete submission of loan application packages for underwriting. Attention to detail and follow-through are crucial for enhancing customer experience and maximizing customer relationships.

Requirements

Experience with application origination of mortgage, home equity, or consumer loans
Strong customer service skills
Strong sales skills
Relationship building skills
Well-developed communication skills

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of conventional secondary market guidelines
Knowledge and understanding of TRID
Working experience with the integrated Loan Estimate Disclosure (LE)
Experience with Encompass LOS
A.S degree in Business or related field

Responsibilities
