About The Position

The In-House Legal Counsel ("Counsel") will be working within the New York in-house legal department (“Legal Department”) of Intesa Sanpaolo, Corporate and Investment Banking Division (“ISPNY”). Counsel will support the Legal Department in the day-to-day management of ISPNY’s legal affairs, including, but not limited to, drafting and negotiation of financing and other agreements (e.g. vendor agreements, NDAs, etc.), supporting the Legal Department in its interactions with external counsel, and in the management of litigation matters, assisting in corporate governance matters and providing general advice on New York law matters. Counsel will work closely with ISPNY’s Senior In-House Counsel personnel and will report directly to ISPNY’s Head of Legal.

Requirements

  • Excellent legal drafting skills
  • Knowledge of banking / finance laws and corporate lending (non-retail) practices
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex legal issues and devise solutions and strategies
  • Ability to anticipate and understand the implications of agreements, and contractual provisions, including identifying and assessing potential risks and impacts
  • Strong writing, negotiating and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve in an efficient, business-friendly, creative manner
  • An excellent work ethic and commitment to professionalism
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Taking full, proactive ownership of projects
  • Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to execute multiple, high-priority projects

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of financial regulatory matters a plus
