About The Position

Our In-Home Support Specialists are committed to facilitate, model, and build skills that will lead to the optimal independence of the people we support. This is a part-time position with a schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, totaling 17 hours per week. The work location is Putnam, CT.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to mentor and assist people in all areas of life skills including recreation, independence, communication, and health
• Valid driver’s license required
• High School Diploma or GED
• Applicants must possess basic computer aptitude and be able to speak/write in English
• Possesses a valid driver’s license, privately owned vehicle, and evidence of insurance

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience working with people who have developmental and physical disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Daily activities such as meal preparation and planning
• Personal care
• Facilitating community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
• Providing transportation to recreational and community activities
• Supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans
