About The Position

Visiting Angels of Bryan is hiring an In Home Personal Aide to assist senior adults in the Central Texas area, including Hearne, Bryan, College Station, Brenham, Madisonville, Huntsville, and Caldwell. This role offers flexibility, growth opportunities, and the chance to make a positive impact on clients' lives. As an In Home Personal Aide, you will help clients maintain their independence and dignity while recovering or living at home. Responsibilities vary by client but generally involve personal care, light housekeeping, medication reminders, meal preparation, and assisting with mobility. The role also requires prompt reporting of any health changes or emergencies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent time-management skills
Reliable transportation to client visits
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards

Responsibilities

Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
Managing light housekeeping
Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
Prompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right times
Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks
Acting quickly in the case of medical emergencies
Adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances
