About The Position

This role involves providing in-home care to clients, focusing on meal preparation, social engagement, personal hygiene, light housekeeping, and reporting client information. The caregiver will also be responsible for acting quickly and responsibly in emergency situations. The position requires a compassionate and skilled individual who can adhere to health and safety standards.

Requirements

• Previous in-home caregiver experience preferred
• Previous caregiver experience with dementia clients
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with preparing meals, social engagement and companionship
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
