Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in home care, nursing home, or hospital settings preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and insurance required.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to client safety and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and mobility support
  • Take and record vital signs as directed
  • Assist with toileting, catheter care, and G-tube care
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and other household tasks
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures using appropriate PPE
  • Observe and report changes in client condition to the RN and care team
  • Promote independence, dignity, and quality of life during every visit
