Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in home care, nursing home, or hospital settings preferred.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and insurance required.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to client safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral hygiene, and mobility support
- Take and record vital signs as directed
- Assist with toileting, catheter care, and G-tube care
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, meal preparation, and other household tasks
- Follow infection control and safety procedures using appropriate PPE
- Observe and report changes in client condition to the RN and care team
- Promote independence, dignity, and quality of life during every visit
