About The Position

At One You Love Homecare South Charlotte, we are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing compassionate, dependable, and personalized non-medical home care services. Our caregivers are the heart of what we do, and we are committed to supporting them with training, flexible scheduling, and a meaningful work environment. As a caregiver, you will provide essential non-medical assistance to clients in their homes, helping them maintain independence and dignity. The role of a caregiver includes companionship, personal care support, assistance with daily living activities, and light housekeeping. During a caregiver’s tenure with the agency, assignment to cases will be contingent on level of care competency as demonstrated in the hiring/screening process. Competency levels will continue to be evaluated and adjusted based on supervision by management.

Requirements

  • Is at least 18 years of age.
  • State certification and license in good standing, if applicable.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, proof of insurance (if required for client transport).
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Presents a negative TB skin test or CXR and other tests as required by specific state statute.
  • Has ability to read, follow written instructions, and document services provided.
  • Is self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired.
  • Possess and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation.
  • Demonstrates tact, patience and good personal hygiene.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in caregiving, home care, or related field is a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)/IADL's.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Prepare and serve meals, including assistance with feeding if necessary.
  • Take and record oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (within the training limitations of the personal care assistant).
  • Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the service delivery plan.
  • Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as ordered (within the training limitations of the personal care assistant).
  • Assist the client in the self-administration of medication.
  • Do the client’s laundry, as appropriate.
  • Meet the safety needs of clients and use equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, restraints, etc.).
  • Report the client’s condition and significant changes to the assigned care coordinator or supervisor.
  • Adhere to documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • Observe infection control protocols and adhere to all protocols set forth in the client plan of care.
  • Provide transportation to doctor appointments, outside activities and shopping.
