In-Home Adaptive Personal Trainer

About The Position
GYMGUYZ San Francisco & Marin is looking for compassionate, reliable, and growth-minded coaches to support adaptive and special needs clients through personalized in-home fitness and wellness programs. This role goes beyond fitness. We are looking for coaches who can build trust, create positive experiences, support mobility and confidence, and provide consistent, emotionally safe interactions for clients and families.
Requirements
- Nationally recognized personal training certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, ACSM, etc.)
- CPR/AED certified
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities (e.g., Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy)
- Excellent communication, empathy, and professionalism
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology and adaptive training principles
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and flexibility to travel between sessions
Nice To Haves
- Adaptive fitness certification preferred (e.g., Certify Strong, ATA)
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized in-home and virtual fitness sessions
- Support adaptive, neurodiverse, senior, and mobility-limited clients
- Build positive relationships with families and caregivers
- Maintain reliable communication and punctuality
- Adapt sessions based on client needs and emotional state
- Track progress and session notes
- Collaborate with the GYMGUYZ team on client success plans
- Travel between client locations professionally and reliably
- Represent GYMGUYZ’s core values — Determination, Respect, Integrity, Versatility, and Excellence (DRIVE) — in every session
