About The Position

Baudville is seeking an Imprinting and Engraving Operator to run and maintain CO2 laser engraving and UV flatbed printers. This role sits at the center of our production success, turning custom orders into finished recognition awards — accurately, on spec, and on time. The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between two distinct decoration processes, catches quality issues before they leave the floor, and multi-tasks an order system to keep jobs moving.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience operating CO2 laser engraving equipment in a production environment
• Familiarity with multiple award substrates (crystal, acrylic, metal, wood)
• Experience flagging and documenting quality or production issues in a formal SOP-driven environment
• Working knowledge of an ERP or order management system and graphics software (NetSuite strongly preferred)
• Strong attention to detail with proven ability to own quality outcomes, not just perform inspections

Nice To Haves

• Experience with digital/UV flatbed printing equipment (Xanté or comparable systems)
• Experience with equipment maintenance scheduling or vendor coordination
• Track record of identifying and driving process or quality improvements

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and perform routine maintenance on CO2 laser engraving equipment, including material staging, focus/power settings, and job-specific parameter adjustments
• Operate the UV flatbed printer for direct-to-substrate printing, including color calibration, substrate handling, and print queue management
• Troubleshoot common equipment issues (misalignment, material jams, print quality drift) and know when to escalate.
• Perform in-process and final quality inspections on engraved and printed pieces against order specs and Baudville's quality standards
• Work closely with Graphics Department to ensure final art is correct
• Identify and flag material defects, engraving/print inconsistencies, or scrap-worthy pieces before they move downstream
• Follow established SOPs for engraving and UV printing quality inspection, and material scrap handling
• Pull job specs and production orders from NetSuite and confirm accuracy before production
• Update order status and production records in NetSuite as jobs move through engraving and printing
• Flag mismatched specs, unusual quantities, or tight ship dates to the production lead
• Work within graphics software to make minor adjustments
• Work confidently across the substrates common to recognition awards — crystal, acrylic, resin, metal, and wood — understanding how each behaves under laser engraving vs. UV printing
• Understand the distinction between engraving (material removal) and printing/marking (surface application) well enough to select or confirm the right process for a given job.
• Assist with picking and packing orders
• Assist and run other engraving machines.
• Other duties as assigned.
