About The Position

Plans, directs, and controls import activities on a day-to-day basis. Develops and maintains relationships with key customers and key suppliers, resolving concerns. Interacts with customer service, operations, and sales personnel to resolve any conflicts on a timely basis. Supervises import documentation. Oversees obtaining and processing of Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery, and invoicing the import accounts to their SOP. Supervises coordination of the release of goods from the carrier, customs, or other governmental agency examinations that may be required. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Customs regulations, tariffs and interpretations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent client service skills, responding promptly and professionally to client needs and requests for service and assistance
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements
  • Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, email and various PC based software
  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years related experience
  • Must successfully pass an E-Verify Check

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years industry experience preferred
  • Professional certification may be required in some areas
