Import Sales Representative
About The Position
A highly regarded and longstanding Importer/Shipper/Re-Packer is adding sales talent. This reputable Importer seeks a sales pro, well versed in selling on a Program, F.O.B. and delivered basis. This newly-created role will develop long-term customer relationships through sales and daily account management. This client is looking for an experienced sales pro with established sales relationships they can contact on Day 1. This group is expanding their volume for citrus, grapes, and berries and also has a strong cherry tomato program. This is a small sales team with a family-oriented / team-first company culture with fantastic benefits. This company is based in the greater New York / New Jersey area with a sales footprint throughout the Eastern U.S. This position can be remote based within that area.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of fruit sales experience required in grapes, citrus and/or blueberries.
- Successful track record working with domestic retail, foodservice and/or blue-chip wholesale customers.
- Thorough understanding of fresh produce supply base, production, and operations.
- Established sales relationships that can be contacted on Day 1.
Nice To Haves
- Import experience helpful.
- College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.
Responsibilities
