About The Position

The WC Import Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating daily operation activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations on the West Coast. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records and effectively communicating operational challenges. Additionally, this position is responsible for day to day operations related to the Direct Service Provider programs throughout the company.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Clerical experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs or more at times.
  • Ability to handle and inspect fruit samples, requiring good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequent use of computers, which involves repetitive motions such as typing and using a mouse.
  • Exposure to different temperature conditions when visiting refrigerated storage facilities or warehouses.
  • Occasionally climbing ladders or steps to access stored products.
  • Use of appropriate PPE when required, such as gloves, safety glasses, and protective footwear.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, especially in packing and storage facilities.
  • Good visual acuity to inspect fruit quality and detect any defects or issues.
  • Ability to use sensory skills such as taste and smell to assess fruit quality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and via email, which is essential for coordinating with suppliers, clients, and team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with Famous Software, preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking of international shipments from origin to West Coast and provide updates to key stakeholders in the company
  • Monitor shipments and vessel schedules and report on potential delays to supply
  • Coordinate clearances with custom brokers and coordinate deliveries and availability with facilities
  • Coordinate USDA inspections as required
  • Assist with claims documentation related to imported product
  • Manage day to day operations related to company’s nationwide Direct Service Provider Programs including, but not limited to, order entry, logistics coordination, and product availability reporting
  • Incorporate and uphold our Sustainability Ambition in daily operations: Environmental Stewardship, Social Equity, Governance Excellence
  • Other related tasks as assigned.
