About The Position

As an Import Coordinator, you will interface with existing and potential customers to deliver inbound ocean (FCL and LCL), air import, and truck freight rate estimates upon request. You will utilize available systems, database subscriptions, carrier service guides, email communications, and internet research to develop the most efficient route and pricing for requested services. Your role will involve negotiating rates with carriers to ensure coverage of new and existing business, and delivering rate estimates to customers accurately and timely via system-generated quotes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge in import logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ocean import and administrative support.
  • Order entry and documentation process skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Logistics preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in international import logistics, including ocean and air freight.
  • Strong communication skills with quick response ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and process orientation.
  • Experience with logistics management systems (CargoWise experience a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding new customers by collecting information to develop international booking SOPs, including special routing and bill of lading instructions.
  • Coordinate international bookings between shippers and consignees on behalf of customers, ensuring compliance with SOPs and quotations.
  • Maintain daily communication with overseas offices and logistics partners.
  • Research pricing and transportation document discrepancies and report findings.
  • Collaborate closely with department managers and sales personnel, playing a key role in RFQ/RFP responses.
  • Oversee billing accuracy and ensure client-specific rate structures are correctly applied.
