About The Position

The Implementation Specialist role is responsible for the Configuration Management (CM) activities, which ensure that all CM functions relative to identification, configuration change, status accounting and audits are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, CM practices, and QA standards. The Implementation Specialist is responsible for the integrated implementation activities of approved Enterprise Change Requests (ECRs). This role understands all the required downstream activities needed to implement product changes, organizes and communicates tasks, creates achievable implementation plans and manages workload based on change priority and change effective dates.

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management systems and automated business tools, including Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and related applications.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills, ensuring data integrity, process compliance, and accuracy across Configuration Management activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functional areas to achieve business objectives and maintain configuration control.

  • CMII certification an asset
  • Relevant Configuration Management experience in an engineering environment is preferred
  • May have practical knowledge of project management.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing ECRs prior to ECA for implementation purposes and ensuring mixed effectivity is not present
  • Participating in the ECA meetings and providing input as applicable
  • Grouping approved ECRs to best achieve the desired change effectivity while minimizing the implementation cost and customer impact
  • Establishing a detailed implementation plan for all tasks with inputs from impacted functional groups. The plan will include a schedule for milestones, dependencies, critical paths and activities associated with the work to be performed in order to achieve the desired effectivity of the change
  • Scheduling the Change Implementation Board (CIB) meeting, and distributing the CIB agenda
  • Chairing the CIB meeting to review change implementation plans and schedules with the cross-functional team in order to identify and quantify risks to schedule and mitigate those risks.
  • Ensuring accurate traceability of product configurations
  • Revise As-Built records based on change effectivity
  • Review and apply variances (RFVs) to As Built records
  • Responsible to audit the Change packages to assure continuity between the old and new datasets, and for releasing the qualified datasets
  • Provide experienced Configuration Management guidance and technical leadership to internal and external stakeholders, developing innovative solutions while ensuring compliance with established policies, standards, and governance requirements.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring successful delivery and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Configuration Management procedures to ensure efficiency, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
  • Act as the Configuration Management representative on cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to established processes and standards
