Implementation Manager

Puzzle.ioSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Puzzle is redefining how companies navigate their financials. We’ve built modern, AI-powered accounting software that empowers accounting firms and the founders they serve with real-time, comprehensive financial insights. Our platform drafts books in real time, integrates natively with Stripe, Ramp, Mercury, Brex, Gusto, and more, and delivers AI-powered analysis that goes far beyond traditional accounting systems. As an Implementation Manager focused on Accounting Partnerships at Puzzle, you’ll own the end-to-end implementation experience for accounting firms and their clients. You’ll take customers from signed contract through a successful go-live, ensuring their financial workflows, data, and team are fully set up. This is a fully execution-focused role. You’ll manage the entire implementation lifecycle — kickoff, configuration, data migration, testing, go-live — while serving as the primary point of contact for customers throughout. Our firm partners are sophisticated; they expect someone who can speak fluently about accounting workflows from day one, not someone learning on the job. This is a great opportunity for someone who comes from an accounting or finance background and is excited to bring that expertise into a customer-facing, implementation-driven role at a fast-growing fintech startup. We’re open to hiring across a range of experience levels for this role — from strong mid-level candidates to seasoned Senior Implementation Managers. The right level will be determined based on your background and what you bring to the table. Accounting experience is required for this role.

Requirements

  • A solid accounting or finance foundation — public accounting, audit, or in-house experience that gives you genuine fluency in how finance teams operate. This is non-negotiable.
  • Sharp project management instincts — you can juggle multiple workstreams, keep timelines on track, and surface risks before they become problems.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the presence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by fast-paced startup environments where processes are still being built.
  • Intermediate Excel or Google Sheets skills for data validation and migration work.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an implementation, solutions, or customer success role
  • ASC 606 and SaaS revenue recognition knowledge
  • CPA or equivalent certification
  • Experience at a SaaS or fintech company
  • Familiarity with fintech integrations (Stripe, Ramp, Brex, Rippling, Salesforce, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Own the Full Implementation Lifecycle: Lead customer implementations from kickoff through go-live — managing timelines, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring every customer launches successfully on Puzzle.
  • Configure the Platform to Customer Needs: Translate each firm’s accounting workflows into Puzzle — chart of accounts setup, reporting structures, close processes, and operational requirements — so the platform works exactly the way they need it to.
  • Manage Data Migration: Own the migration of customer financial data from source systems (ERP, GL, spreadsheets), validate accuracy, and lead testing and reconciliation to ensure nothing is lost in translation.
  • Lead Testing and Go-Live Validation: Verify that financial workflows, reporting outputs, and system configurations reconcile accurately before handing customers over to the Customer Success team.
  • Be the Primary Customer Contact: Guide customers through onboarding, training, and change management — providing clear, consistent communication and building trust at every stage of the process.
  • Identify and Resolve Risks Early: Spot issues across data, processes, or timelines before they become blockers, and partner with Product and Engineering to drive resolution quickly.
  • Improve the Playbook: Develop and maintain implementation best practices and documentation as we scale, making each implementation better than the last.
