About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology. The company is seeking an experienced, self-directed Safety Coordinator to join a high-performing team in a fast-paced, clean-room environment. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Implant group and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), ensuring communication and alignment of safety priorities. The Safety Coordinator will lead, guide, and report on all safety-related matters for the department, collaborating with Equipment/Process Technicians and Engineers to identify practical solutions to safety challenges and support broader safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Health and Safety performing similar tasks required.
  • Basic understanding of technical concepts such as hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.
  • Familiarity with SPC methods and implementation.
  • Knowledge of Ion Implantation and Semiconductor Safety considerations.
  • Must be willing and qualified to serve on the Emergency Response Team.
  • Applicants must be authorized to access such information or eligible for government authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety, IH, Engineering, or closely related field preferred.
  • Certification such as CSP, CIH, CHMM or ability to be certified preferred.
  • Familiarity with General Industry OSHA Regulations and reporting guidelines.
  • Preference for experience in General Industry at a semiconductor manufacturing (FAB) facility.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that the department remains in compliance with all Samsung EHS and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Partnering with team members and leadership to keep employees engaged in safe behavior.
  • Working on various initiatives within the department and across departments as a Safety subject matter expert to improve the safety culture and safety execution of the team.
  • Communicating and championing safety information, progress, and concerns across the department and with EHS.
