About The Position

The Impact Communications Lead plays a pivotal role in promoting LLSC programs and services and shaping mission impact communications across channels and audiences. Responsible for planning, developing and delivering marketing and communications initiatives for LLSC programs and services, they will grow engagement and expand the reach of our programs and services through integrated conventional and digital communications channels. Working closely with the Programs and Services and Fundraising teams, they lead initiatives to improve awareness, accessibility, participation and impact stewardship with donors, sponsors, partners and the blood cancer community. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
  • A strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel communications strategies.
  • A compelling communicator with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • A digital-savvy professional with strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • A relationship builder with the ability to engage and maintain connections with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • A detail-oriented project manager with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A confident presenter with the ability to create reports and presentations that demonstrate impact and ROI.
  • Proficiency in communication tools and platforms such as CMS, social media management tools, email marketing platforms, Canva, and/or Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design impact communications toolkit to infuse impact data and mission storytelling across all national campaigns and brand communications.
  • Lead and manage internal impact communications plan including weekly Mission Mondays all staff communications.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to infuse mission impact resources or program and service offerings in other areas of LLSC marketing and communications activities by updating and collaborating with Mission Voice colleagues regularly.
  • Serve as an advisor on impact communications to cross-departmental leaders and teams.
  • Develop and implement the marketing and communication efforts to launch and boost registration for annual blood cancer conferences (in person and/or virtual), including leading kick off meetings, project management, and execution.
  • Create positioning and branding for the First Connection peer support program, Blood Cancer Awareness Month, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and implement marketing tactics to increase volunteer recruitment and participation among those affected by blood cancers.
  • Develop and coordinate the visibility and promotional activities of approximately 2 webcasts per month.
  • Develop and execute paid social media campaigns to promote programs and services, including concepting, design, ad creation, writing copy, creating short videos, and coordinating with creative vendors.
  • Write copy, select images, manage translation for biweekly newsletter to blood cancer community.
  • Create engaging content and materials that help to inform, empower and offer practical support to individuals and families affected by a blood cancer, fact sheets, videos, micro-sites, and other tools by working with graphic designers, translators, web developers, videographers and photographers.
  • Ensure impact content and resources shared on brand channels is relevant, up-to-date and current.
  • Write and lead design for major donor, sponsor and partner stewardship impact reports for Business Development and Advancement.
  • Write, edit, and lead development of Annual Impact Report.
  • Develop metrics and regular reporting for email and social media promotional and awareness campaigns.
