As an Advanced Specialty Care-Immunology Sales Specialist, you will be instrumental in translating our scientific capabilities into positive patient outcomes. The North American Commercial team serves as the primary interface with healthcare clients, representing well-recognized products and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals. AstraZeneca is committed to environmental sustainability through initiatives like the Ambition Zero Carbon Program, aiming for a fully Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet by the end of 2025, meaning all drivers will be assigned an EV.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of five years of Pharmaceutical/Biotech Sales experience with a track record of engaging key stakeholders in complex clinical environments (mid to senior level healthcare professionals, key accounts and the medical community)
  • Proven demonstration of success working in complex cross-functional teams
  • Strong scientific acumen in a highly competitive environment
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Internal candidate must be at Career Level 3

Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge to effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals in dialogues about clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety profiles to support on-label prescribing.
  • Function independently with a high degree of sales proficiency to drive sales performance and ensure sales forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Successfully complete training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information relative to your assigned sales territory.
  • Collaborate with your Regional Sales Director and District Sales Manager to develop a local strategy and business plan to generate recognizable increases in sales within your territory.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and other opportunities through effective implementation of Strategic Targeting Plans, utilizing a wide variety of promotional, personnel resources, and analytical tools to maximize effectiveness in the assigned sales territory based on local assessment of customer needs.
  • Pro-actively identify business opportunities, present value propositions aligned to stakeholder needs and objectives, and recommend solutions to drive and develop business.
  • Provide special education to healthcare providers through appropriate programs that fall within AstraZeneca's ethical guidelines.
  • Work with other Biologic Sales Specialists around common objectives to coordinate selling efforts and partner closely with roles such as Field Reimbursement Managers, Medical Science Liaisons, and Thought Leader Liaisons to ensure seamless delivery of specialty medicines to customers.
  • Consistently challenge yourself to grow and develop, seeking feedback to raise awareness and gain insight into strengths and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate across functional areas to drive win/win outcomes that align with organizational objectives, demonstrating AZ values, understanding basic business principles, and interpreting available resources to make sound business decisions.
