About The Position

Under the supervision of the Immunization Program Nurse, this position blends administrative support with direct programmatic assistance to ensure immunization services are efficient, compliant, and accessible to providers and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, health education, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Current Driver's License
  • Knowledge of subjects related to health such as nutrition, disease, exercise, wellness, etc.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices used in fostering proper community, adult, maternal, child and dental health.
  • Knowledge of basic epidemiological principles and methods including data collection, reporting, and interpretation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and develop programs independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships with general public, health practitioners, and various community agencies or organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with immunization providers to identify and address barriers to vaccine delivery.
  • Work to expand the number of immunization providers in the community.
  • For providers enrolled in the Texas Vaccines for Children (TVFC) or other government funded immunization program Enroll new providers into the program.
  • Deliver training on vaccine storage, handling, and compliance reporting.
  • Monitor vaccine inventory and assess storage and handling conditions.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate provider compliance.
  • Prepare immunization and provider reports using MS Office and Excel.
  • Support outreach and education efforts related to immunizations and other public health priorities.
  • Inform the public and community partners about services available through Lubbock Public Health.
  • Support vaccine-preventable disease outbreak response as needed.
  • Assist community members and providers enroll in the state immunization registry.
  • Maintain program documentation, training materials, and quality assurance records.
  • Perform related duties as required.
