About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager, Front Office and Health Information, the Immunization Coordinator serves as the immunization compliance coordinator. Provides administrative support to the Immunization Committee, primarily for Student Entry Immunization requirements and documentation, for compliance. Project manage reporting, messaging, as well as scheduled or walk in support. Using a computerized scheduling system and a multi-line phone, schedules medical appointments both by telephone and in person. Answers the patient appointment cancellation line and cancels appointments accordingly. Accurately determines patient's medical needs with regards to urgency and appropriateness of patient's appointment request. Assists patients by providing information on general Student Health services and programs. Utilizes substantial customer service experience and demonstrated abilities to clearly explain appointment procedures and uses sound judgment to handle non-routine appointment requests. Performs a variety of clerical tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • General Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Must possess appropriate judgment and ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Leadership qualities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrate willingness to adapt to change.
  • Must be a self-starter and dependable.
  • Detail oriented with good organizational and planning skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work in a busy environment with multiple interruptions.

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly and tactfully with students, staff and other diverse groups of people.
  • Organizational skills to meet timelines established by law and department policy.
  • Proficiency using personal computer, including office-related software.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skills in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line phone system.
  • Experience with EMR and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to operate document scanner.
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization.
